Poland Hoping for Lewandowski's Return
Poland is hoping that star striker Robert Lewandowski will be fit for their second Group D match at Euro 2024 against Austria on Thursday. Poland began their campaign by losing by the odd goal in three against the Netherlands, while Austria was hugely impressive in their opening match, beating Romania 3-0.
Lewandowski, who scored 50 goals for Bayern Munich this season, missed Poland's opening match with a thigh injury, but he is now back in training and could be in line to start against Austria.
Austria will be without suspended midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, but they will be confident of getting a result against Poland, who they have beaten in two of their last three meetings.
The match will be played at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna and will kick off at 21:00 CEST (20:00 BST).
